Chairperson Smith opened the hearing on HB2445.

Adam Siebers, Assistant Revisor provided an overview for HB2445 that provides for a property tax exemption for properties used and owned by a health club.(Attachment 1)

Kathleen Smith, Kansas Department of Revenue provided an overview on the fiscal note for HB2445 indicating the bill would decrease property tax revenues by adding a new property tax exemption for certain health clubs. HB2445 would reduce the amount of property tax revenues that would be collected for the two building funds, the Educational Building Fund and the State Institutions Building Fund.
