Prev Article 2. - DAYS OF COMMEMORATIONNext


35-208. National day of the cowboy. (a) The fourth Saturday in July of each year is hereby designated as the national day of the cowboy in the state of Kansas.

(b) The governor of this state is hereby authorized and directed to issue annually a proclamation calling upon our state officials to display the United States flag on all state buildings on the Friday immediately preceding the national day of the cowboy each year, declaring the fourth Saturday in July to be the national day of the cowboy and inviting people of the state to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies.

(c) The governor of this state is hereby authorized and directed to display the national day of the cowboy flag on the grounds of the state capitol building on the Friday immediately preceding the national day of the cowboy each year.

(d) The Kansas department of agriculture shall provide education and outreach concerning the national day of the cowboy to the public.
