Chair Jennings opened the hearing on HB2128. The revisor gave an overview of HB2128. (Attachment 5) Questions presented from the Committee were addressed.
Scott Schultz submitted a Prison Bed Space Impact Assessment and testified in support of HB2128 stating this bill allows for post-sentence transfer of jurisdiction and supervision for (2003) SB123 offenders. It also expands (2003) SB123 treatment to offenders convicted of certain nondrug, nonperson crimes. (Attachment 6) (Attachment 7) Questions presented from the Committee were addressed.
Written testimony in support of HB2128 was submitted by Dr. Stuart Little. (Attachment 8) Questions presented from the Committee were addressed.
Chair Jennings called for final questions from the Committee.
